8-Bit Miles Davis Tribute Album Now For Sale

Kind of Bloop, the chiptune album paying tribute to Jazz legend Miles Davis with five covers of his songs, is now available to purchase and downlaod in high quality MP3 and FLAC formats from the CD's official site -- where you'll also find streaming previews for each of the tracks.

If you're unfamiliar with the project, Kind of Bloop was funded through Kickstarter.com, a recently launched donation platform for artists, designers, and musicians. Kickstarter's CTO Andy Baio launched the project with the hopes of raising $2,000 to pay for licensing fees and his enlisted performers to produce the 8-bit jazz production. By the end of the donation period, Baio had secured over $8,600.

The album saw a restricted release last Monday, coinciding with the 50-year anniversary of Davis' landmark record Kind of Blue, but those downloads were only open to previous donators; they're now available to anyone with five bucks. Due to the project's licensing arrangement, however, there is a limited amount of digital downloads, so grab one quick!
