The Graveyard for Free, Lugaru 75% Off

Full versions of The Graveyard (both Windows and Mac OS X builds) are available as free downloads for today only, so if you've played the demo earlier and liked it, then you might want to get a copy before the offer expires.

In other news, Wolfire is discounting Lugaru down to $4.95 on Direct2Drive and Mac Game Store (normally $19.95) until the 4th of November. The D2D version also comes with a HD texture pack that makes the game look slightly better on PCs with high resolution settings.

Digital Eel Giving Away Strange Adventures in Infinite Space

Indie game developer Digital Eel is giving away its strategy/adventure game Strange Adventures In Infinite Space (SAIS) for free. Originally released in 2002 for PC and Mac, SAIS was a 2003 IGF finalist and the predecessor to the studio's 2006 IGF-winning game (for Innovation in Audio) Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space.

In the seven-year-old title, players "explore a randomly created universe, meet aliens, [and] acquire artifacts in the name of scientific progress and stellar manifest destiny". Designed to be played in 20 minutes in around 5-20 minutes, SAIS features 21 ship types, 69 weapons/drives/shields/gadgets/artifacts, 18 alien lifeforms, 7 alien races, and 17 kinds of planets and star types.

Digital Eel also announced that it's posted Soup du Jour -- a physics-based match-three PC game that has you clearing colorful, bouncing candy while Kitchen Gremlins send bombs and missiles in your soup pot -- for free downloads, too.

Stream Shatter’s Soundtrack For Free

Shatter, Sidhe Interactive's Breakout/shoot'em-up PS3 game released last week, has received positive reviews not just for its well executed update of the 30-plus-year-old brick breaking formula, but also for its superb "electro rock and retro beats" soundtrack.

Local composer Jeramiah "Module" Ross worked closely with the studio for over a year to match the music with Shatter's visuals and themes, coming up with a sound reminiscent of "80’s new wave, stadium rock and intergalactic space rock opera."

Sidhe has posted the soundtrack on Bandcamp, where you can stream the 13-track release for free or purchase downloads for individual songs and the entire album. It should also hit iTunes and other digital outlets soon, and a physical CD version is also planned.
